Edinburgh Coaching Services (Career Counselling, CVs & Interview preparation, Occupational Testing)

How does Career Counselling work?
Career Counselling is a process of listening to your situation and helping you focus on, and work towards your goals.  Every client is unique, so we tailor all of our services.  We ask clients to email us a brief overview of their situation and the help they are looking for.  Then, during the first 50-60 min consultation, we get to know you and see what advice and support we can offer.   In some situations, a single session is all that is required.  Other clients choose to come for a few appointments, depending on what they need help with.

Can you offer psychometrics/occupational testing?
Yes - we offer a range of different psychometric tests, including personality assessments (e.g. MBTI® - the very popular Myers Briggs Type Indicator) or Career Interest Inventories.  We advise you on the best tools to meet your needs or signpost you towards free resources if budgets are tight.

Can you help me write a CV or prepare for an interview?
Yes - this is one of our most popular services.  We can help you promote yourself to potential employers, explore your transferrable skills and prepare for competency-based interviews and assessment centres.

Can Coaching cover both work and personal areas?
Many clients choose us because we are highly skilled in both coaching and psychology, meaning we adapt our services to suit you.  Very few therapy centres will help with careers and very few career services can help with mental health or wellbeing.  We offer both and can blend to suit.   We can also offer coaching in areas of leadership, managing others, stress management and life coaching.

How long do appointments last and are they in-person or online?
Most appointments are daytime, but we try to be flexible to fit around work requirements and have a limited number of evening appointments, depending on availability.  We have offices in the heart of the city, by St Andrew Square, giving easy access by train, tram or bus.  We can see clients face-to-face or online via Zoom or Skype as preferred.  A typical appointment lasts 50 mins.

What is your cancellation policy?

As a private practice, we hire city centre offices in an excellent location for clients.  We request that clients give us 48 hours' notice for cancellations to avoid a room booking charge and to allow us to offer the appointment to another client.
