Catherine Bois

​Dr Catherine Bois is a chartered clinical psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).  She is a chartered member of both the BPS division of clinical psychology and the division of neuropsychology.

 

Catherine also has a strong research background in mental health and is an author and contributor to several published papers in peer-reviewed journals. She holds a PhD in the division of psychiatry at the University of Edinburgh.

 

Catherine is passionate about providing her clients with a safe and person-centred approach, centered around a strong therapeutic alliance. Her core values are centred around advocacy, inclusion and compassion. She is focused on using a holistic approach to a client's difficulties, tailoring it to the client's individual values and setting up achievable therapeutic goals.

 

As a clinical psychologist, she has worked in an NHS setting for 9 years, delivering both individual and group therapy. She has worked within a wide range of NHS settings, including neurological rehabilitation services, adult, older adult, neuropsychology and clinical health settings.  She is confident in tailoring evidence-based approaches to the individual, using CBT, ACT and compassion-focused therapy.

 

Catherine has experience working with most psychological difficulties and is confident working with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, chronic physical illness, self-esteem and confidence. 

 

She has a special interest in working with clients with neurological conditions, functional neurological disorders, and brain injury (traumatic and acquired).

 

Catherine offers a reduced rate for self-funding clients (£100 assessment, thereafter £90 per session) and is also registered with Bupa.  Catherine offers sessions via Zoom as well as face-to-face appointments.  Her clinic days are usually Wednesday afternoons, with morning/after-work slots available on Thursdays and Fridays.
